Yount Card of the Day #6

1992 Leaf #64

This card is unspectacular to say the least. Gray, drab, really nothing going for it, Leaf got quite boring once it was made more widely available south of the border.
Wait a minute, check out the back of this card! Robin appears to be screwing his head on, leading me to the only logical conclusion, that Yount is actually a cyborg!
His lifetime stats seem to indicate that he is a T-1000 prototype, manufactured by Cyberdyne systems in the year 2029 and sent back in time by Skylab to lead his team to the pennant.
Actually, I seem to recall an incident back 1991 when Jim Gantner confronted Yount with his suspicions about Robin not being 100% human when he spotted his arm turning into "liquid metal" in the shape of tongs at an off-season barbecue. Reportedly, Yount stared at Gumby for about fifteen seconds before replying, " I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle."

Robin would have also made an excellent team player for the original NES game, Basewars.

I also think it would have been cool if Paul Molitor had a backpack, like the one Chewbacca had in "The Empire Strikes Back," with which to carry Robin's disassembled parts in an emergency situation.

Remember, Robin's CPU is a neural net processor, a learning computer.
