Card-vent Calendar, Dec. 1

The holiday season officially kicks off today with the unveling of the majestic, glorious Card-vent Calendar. We're counting down the days to Card-mas full of the holiday spirit! Old friends will be stopping by for a nip of eggnog, some Christmas fudge, and a pack of 1987 Topps.

Each day a new door to the calendar will be opened and the surprise card will be revealed. I can't wait! Twenty-four days of joy, packs without doubles, and goodwill towards men. And on the 25th day...a savior.

Let's get this party started!

December 1, 2007:
1983 Topps #18 Kent Tekulve Super Veteran
Kent Tekulve is pretty much a straight-up baller. He was a baller back in '74, and he remained a baller in '83. The man's future was so bright that he needed to switch to prescription sunglasses. Here are a few more facts about the man:
*Pitched three saves in the 1979 World Series.
*Vetoed Pittsburgh Pirates management's decision to switch the team colors to purple and orange because of how good he looked in yellow.
*Owns six patents relating to the development and manufacture of the photochromic lens (better known under the trade name Transitions).
*Following his 31 saves in 1978, saved Christmas.

See you all tomorrow. Trade Me Anything!!! will continue tonight.
