Trade and Win: Summer 2009

Last summer many of us were in the midst of the phenomenon that took the Internet by storm, Trade Me Your Brewers. Due to a confluence of circumstances, this promotion will not be repeated in 2009. Another event, however, is taking its place. I'd like to take this opportunity to announce Thorzul Will Rule's inaugural edition of Trade and Win!
What can you win, exactly? Look down.

That's right, someone will walk away with an autographed Robin Yount jersey card from Upper Deck's 2005 Baseball Heroes set, numbered to 15!

Let me give you a little background here. Earlier this summer, I purchased a very similar Robin Yount card, forgetting I already had this one. For you math tracksters out there, this means that I now own 2/15 of the existing copies of this card. Since I really don't need both of them, I've decided to trade it away, and the person who gets it just might achieve the steal of a lifetime.

Here's how it will work: Below I am posting my Want Lists. I've come to a point where I've decided that I am not going to buy any more wax until I've completed at least half of the sets that I currently would like to finish. The problem is, I'm tired of finding them in dribs and drabs and getting bent over on shipping. This is where you come in. To enter the contest, all you have to do is send me one or more of the cards on my Want List. Each set and subset on these lists has been assigned a point value. Each point you earn is good for one slot on a random.org randomizer list. The more cards you send, the more points you earn and the greater chance you have of snagging that Yount card. No entry is too small. This means that someone could trade me a 1992 Upper Deck base card and get traded the Yount AUTO/jersey in return. Not too shabby!

And that's not all! If the total number of cards sent to me from my Want Lists exceeds 50, I will throw in another awesome card (i.e. an AUTO, jersey, numbered, or something vintage) and there will be two winners. Additional cards will be added at every 25-card increment after the original 50.

In addition, anyone sending me at least a single card will be eligible for two bonus points for linking to this contest on their blog. (Let me know when you do this, so I can give you credit.) Bonus points are not available just for linking, you have to send something. I will also plan on posting all of the cards that come in and linking to the blogs of their senders.

Please make sure you leave a comment about what you plan on sending me before sending me anything. Also make sure to email me at bill13boehm@yahoo.com to offer any cards and to request my mailing address. I will do my best to keep the lists current. Please make sure your cards get to me within a week of offering them, so there is a fair chance for someone else to offer that card. I plan on highlighting any card numbers in italics once they are offered and in BOLD once they are received. I have no fixed date on when the drawing will take place, but I will do my best to gauge when trades have slowed and will go from there.

Here's the list:

Honestly, I'm probably going to have to buy one of these cards just to get included in the contest.
