Americana: "Go Get the Butter"

2007 Donruss Americana #HL-28 Marlon Brando Hollywood Legends (268/325)

The back of this card states that the swatch embedded in this card is from a pair of pants worn by Brando in the film Bedtime Story. Thus, there are no telltale butter stains to be found. That's quite a relief.

Coincidentally, Brando's Last Tango in Paris co-star Maria Schneider passed away last week.

Favorite Brando performance, anyone?

Forever it was Vito Corleone, and then I saw On The Waterfront. An American master in and American masterpiece. Check it out if you haven't seen it.

Superman the Movie, just kidding I'm torn between On the Waterfront and Apocaylpse Now.

Butter? Is that a water-based lubricant?

"The Freshman" with Matthew Broderick was better than I thought it would be.

"The Island of Dr. Moreau" was a classic for all time. At least for South Park.

His Col. Kurtz in "Apocalypse Now" is perhaps the greatest scenery-chewing exaggerated role of all time.

However, my two favorites of his movies are "Sayonara", and "One Eyed Jacks". Both of those get overshadowed by Streetcar, Waterfront, and The Wild One, as far as a younger Brando is concerned.

One Eyed Jacks can be streamed on Netflix, BTW.
