The 100 Best Finds in a 30-Dollar Lot: #56

2006 Upper Deck First Class Legends #FCL-28 Ty Cobb

Tonight, Rickie Weeks hit an inside-the-park home run in the third inning of a thrilling 8-7 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. As it turns out, Ty Cobb is the all-time American League Leader in the category, with 46. Holy shit! But that's not all. Tommy Leach hold the NL record (49), and the Major League record was established by Jesse Burkett, who hit 55 I-T-P HRs during his career. Remember, kids, that these records were set during a time when baseball parks were roughly the size of counties, and outfielders played with gloves that had only two fingers.

This is a nice insert with the plaque motif on a brick wall, like what it would look like if the Hall of Fame were housed inside a dive bar. Which, it should be, obviously.
