Trade Me Anything VII #1

The seventh edition of Trade Me Anything kicks off with a package from Shane at Shoebox Legends. He beat the Veteran's Day USPS holiday with his trade package. Let's see what went down.

Giving:
2013 Topps Update 1971 Minis #TM-37 David Ortiz, #TM-40 Nomar Garciaparra

2013 Topps Update Green Sparkle #US177 David Ortiz

Getting:
The Godfather DVD
I bought the DVD box set when it first came out, but this one purports to be better in some way. This will make a good watch-in-the-glow-of-Christmas-lights movie some night next month.

A bunch of O-Pee-Chee mini hockey cards
The whole set (42 cards)? I'll have to check.

Some packs of cards.
To be opened on A Pack a Day sometime soon, hopefully.

A pile of cards
At first glance, it appeared as if these were all going to be Whalers hockey cards. The stack begins and ends with a few of these, but in between is some awesome cardage. "Hartford??? The Whale??? They only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime."

Let's finish with some favorites from the stack.

1979 O-Pee-Chee #283 Sal Bando, #152 Lary Sorensen
Definitely do not have either of these. Nice!

1977 Topps #488 Rookie Outfielders, 1972 Topps #77 Ron Theobald
Funny how a Brewer manages to be the least-celebrated player on this card. At least Dan Thomas knows how Arbor Day feels.

2011 Topps Kimball #KC-17 Chris Carpenter
The back of this card tells me that the last one of these I need from series 1 is Derek Jeter.

Speaking of whom...
2011 Topps ToppsTown #TT2-14 Derek Jeter

2011 Topps 60 Years of Topps #60YOT-30 Andre Dawson
After getting this card I read an article about his knees. To think how much better he would have been without having to play through pain.

1992 Upper Deck #741 Randy Myers, #766 Kenny Lofton
Yup, still working on the high number set here.

A bunch of 2009 UD O-Pee-Chee cards

2007 Topps Finest Moments #RFM-PF Prince Fielder
A new one for the Prince collection.

2011 Topps Topps 60 #t60-75 CC Sabathia

A small stack of 1987 Topps WWF cards
Showing off my two favorites here, "The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be" and the moment Hulk Hogan tore the shit out of his back.

Man, what a great TMA, Shane. You've set the bar pretty high this year.
