Before you start reading this, pour yourself a glass of that delicious mint-flavored chocolate milk that might now be available at your local grocer, tie a poinsettia under each arm and one above your head like the headwear of a Queen's guardsman, and suck a candy cane to a sharp point. That's right, December is here, and with it, the eighth edition of the Card-vent Calendar. Once again this year, I have obtained an extremely hard-to-find copy of the calendar that gives you a gift each day of the month leading up to Christmas. Doors will be opened, cards will emerge, and at the event's conclusion, we will check the manger for a savior.

1971 Topps #111 Zeke Bratkowski
Long before Green Bay's current #12 held the post, Packer quarterbacks were sometimes old-ass men. Bratkowski is actually still a big deal among the vintage Packer collecting set in this state, having been a member of the first two Super Bowl winning teams.
Research indicates that only six players wore #12 between Bratkowski and Aaron Rodgers, the most notable being QB Lynn Dickey. Another memorable twelve was T.J. Rubley, who was subbed into a Packers-Vikings games after Favre and Ty Detmer got hurt, infamously calling an audible with the score tied late and the Pack driving for the winning score. Rubley had his pass intercepted, basically ensuring a Minnesota victory. Zeke would have won the game in the same situation.
