After a two-year hiatus, Nightmares on Cardboard is back!
Yes, the internet landscape has changed. Blog is dead. Goat all-that-stuff.
The Halloween holiday has changed for me, and that's what I'll attribute this long absence to. I no longer drive around town dressed as a zombie, hopping from party to party. Now it's all about neighborhood association trick-or-treat registration and homemade costumes. Amid the hubbub, I left no time for scary cards. It's time to rectify that.
It's time to make scary cards again.
For this year's Nightmares on Cardboard, I'm asking you to pull out all the stops. Wow the readers. Make them gasp, "You've outdone yourself." Put your considerable skills to use, for all that creeps and slithers. And yes, there will be a theme this year: Oddball. Design your card(s) to look like they were cut off the side of a box of mini doughnuts or came free with the purchase of a 67 oz. Big Gulp. The more off the beaten path, the better. Freak us out.
Prizes? Sure, the top three submissions will win a card prize of some sort. But that's not really the point. The trick's the thing. As before, you may make your submission electronically or physically. Get in touch with me at bill13boehm at yahoo.com, and we'll make a hasty arrangement. All submissions must be received by October 24.
Good luck. I look forward to seeing your oddball creations.
